Foundation for Vibrational Astrology A Department of the Avalon School of Astrology

Graduation Requirements

Foundation for Vibrational Astrology (FVA) is a department within the Avalon School of Astrology. The FVA develops, maintains, and administers the Vibrational Astrology Certification Program. This certification process ensures that astrologers who are certified as professional astrologers have the interpretive and consulting skills to provide high level professional services and they conduct themselves in a responsible and ethical manner.

FVA is committed to maintaining the highest ethical standards for both instructors and students. We take professionalism, safety and well-being of our community as a top priority and will not accept anything less.

Given below is a mission statement and the educational requirements that must be fulfilled before taking the VA Certification Exam.

Requirements for VA Certification

1. Mission Statement for VA Certification:

To produce practitioners who consult clients using Vibrational Astrology methods.

  1. Certified practitioners understand the interpretation methods.
  2. Certified practitioners have professional communication skills to provide the information in an effective manner.
  3. Certified practitioners practice in an ethical and responsible manner, and do not unnecessarily install fear in clients or make categorical definitive statements that are unsupported by evidence or engage in other unethical behavior.

2. Objectives for VA Certification:

The certified astrologer has developed competencies in the following areas of astrological interpretation using VA methods: Natal chart, compatibility, forecasting and relocational astrology. The certified astrologer has enrolled in an approved educational program that has evaluated the competency of the applicant for certification, and the applicant passes a certification exam. Training in ethics and counseling skills is also required.

Educational Requirements:

Applicants for certification must enroll and fulfill the following academic requirements:

  1. 10 courses.
  2. For the first 9 courses, a “course” consists of at least 10 hours of live interaction with an instructor and at least 20 additional hours that can be live classes, pre-recorded videos or a mixture of both, for a total of at least 30 hours of class material. The average duration of the 9 courses must be at least 8 weeks for each course. In other words, the 9 courses must extend for a duration of at least 72 weeks (9 courses times 8 weeks) of actual course work and not counting breaks in the schedule. This minimum duration ensures that students have time to absorb the ideas rather than “cramming” into a short period of time. The 10th course has a minimum of 20 hours and all 20 hours must be live. The minimum duration for the 10th course is 3 days (nearly 7 hours per day if done in only 3 days).
  3. Instructors must be qualified. These qualifications appear in the Teacher Requirements section at the end of this document.
  4. Students must fulfill all requirements for a course as explained by the instructor of the course, and meet the requirements for passing the course. Each course is a prerequisite for the next course, so a student cannot take the next course unless all previous course requirements are fulfilled. The order of courses is the order in which the courses are taken from the first to the 10th course.

Prerequisite for the VA Educational Program:

Basic Contemporary Western Language of Astrology. Required for students who lack this education and optionally can be required by the Teacher. Glyphs of the planets and zodiac signs, the layout of a western style chart wheel, understanding fundamental ideas regarding tropical vs. sidereal, different house systems used by astrologers, the four elements of the zodiac signs, and what planets rule the zodiac signs (traditional and modern). The teacher, at their discretion, can require remedial education. Software requirement: Version of the Sirius astrology software that is current when the course begins.
